DESIGNING
A SPACE FOR
DREAMERS
For the Center of Science Activities in Graz, Austria we designed a space for visioning and dreaming. Visitors should relax in a comfortable and imaginative environment by appreciating a multimedial journey through fascinating worlds. We tried to make ideal use of the historical premises and limited room size by using video projection mapping on the vault and “infinite” mirrors across the walls. By blurring the boundaries of real and virtual worlds visitors get immersed in the audiovisual experience.
VISUAL
AND AUDITIVE
STORYTELLING
Deep sea and space are the main scenes of this immersive vision space so we built our story uppon the spatial and temporal aspects of human existence and the Universe. Visitors travel through the deepest parts of the ocean and fly out to fantastic galaxies far away. Soft and calm narrator voices in German and English language accompany the audience in a poetic manner.
AV MEDIA
INSTALLATION
Besides the spatial design concept and the production of audiovisual content we also created a custom media server solution which controls the video projection mapping and a 4.2 surround sound system. It also operates the LED floor lighting via DMX control and an information screen at the entry portal which together function as guidance systems for visitors. Employees can control playback parameters and select different language versions via a touchscreen interface.
